Husband and wife, Robin and Christine, are both actors of many years long standing. Together they have accumulated more than seventy-five years experience in performance and teaching.
Robin’s work in the theatre as a member of the National Theatre and Royal Shakespeare Company encompassed many roles, with additional freelance work for rep seasons, radio and commercials. Christine specialised in children’s theatre work, holding LAMDA diplomas for both acting and teaching.
Robin & Christine comment: "We have been associated with the ACG since the very early 1980s. We have found the organisation and its aims of very great value in bringing together our two individual careers and our shared faith."
In 1994, Robin formed, and became Artistic Director of, ’New Directions Theatre Company’. New Directions was established to develop and promote new scriptwriting with a Christian bias for the secular market place. "The work we do through ’New Directions’ in mentoring and training inexperienced writers in developing scripts for the general media works is very much an offshoot of our membership of the ACG."
Robin wrote and developed the one man play ’Amazing Grace’, which tells the story of John Newton, ex-slave-ship captain and mentor to William Wilberforce. Recently Robin and Christine travelled out to Uganda to visit Karudec - the Kagando Rural Develop Centre to perform for Primary School Children at Kasese and Kagando. They also presented an evening of performance and conversation at the Lighthouse Café Club in Littlehampton, West Sussex.
